  8. Bonfire Nights & Cozy Evenings
Resorts often organize bonfires; sitting around with hot kahwa (Kashmiri tea), enjoying the quiet night, stargazing.
  9. Exploring Nearby Villages / Culture
Visiting places like Tangmarg (18 km away) for local culture, markets, local food. Also shrines like Baba Reshi near these areas.

⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind / Tips

  • Best Time: Winter generally from late December through March for full snow activity. Early and late winter might have less snow.
  • Weather & Altitude: It can get very cold, especially up at high altitudes. Dress in layers, carry good winter gear (thermal wear, gloves, waterproof boots).
  • Snow Conditions: Some activities depend heavily on snow cover (skiing, gondola’s third phase, etc.). Sometimes snow is less, so check local conditions in advance.
  • Guides / Equipment Rental: For many of the adventurous activities you’ll need local guides and rented gear. Better to book in advance if time is tight.
  • Acclimatization: Higher elevations like Apharwat Peak are quite high, so take your time going up; altitude sickness can be an issue.
  • Safety: With snow comes risk of avalanches, slippery paths, etc. Stay aware, follow instructions, and avoid going in restricted or unsafe areas.
